My name is Guzel Surma. I’m from Kazan, Russia.
I started to play go and attend go classes at the olympic sport school in Kazan when I was seven years old. My first trainer was Valerij Shikshin.

My best achievements:
• 2nd place in the Russian Youth Championship under 12 (2001, Moscow)
• 2nd place in the Russian Youth Championship under 16 (2005, Saint Petersburg)
• 2nd place in the Tatarstan Championship (2005, Kazan)
• 1st place in the Tatarstan Female Championship (2005, Kazan)
• 1st place in the Russian Female Championship (2006, Nizhnij Novgorod)
• 3rd place in the Russian Female Championship (2007, Nizhnij Novgorod)

In 2015 I started to teach go at the same school, where I started to play. I like to teach children. I have currently about 40 students. My youngest students are 4 years old.
Teaching go is my only job.
In 2017 I went for two weeks to Korea and attended a go camp for teachers, which was organized by the Korean Baduk (Go) Association.
